The original farm house built prior to the turn of the 20th century was extensively remodeled in 1933. Since then very little has changed. The house still has all the original woodwork, including a full pantry, built in ironing board, French doors, glass door knobs, and a hominess about it that invites rest and relaxation. Enjoy the charm and warmth in every room, just like visiting grandma's farm house years ago. The owners' working dairy farm and home is located ½ mile through the fields or 3 miles by road. We encourage families to bring their children to watch us milk our herd of 70 Guernsey cows, feed a calf her bottle, or perhaps (just maybe) get the chance to watch a baby calf being born. During harvesting time you may be able to ride in the combine. You are invited to take hikes on the many trails through the woods and land. You can bird watch, catch sight of the many deer and wildlife in the area.
The Farm House, located on a State designated Rustic Road, would be a great place for family and friends to gather together, enjoy a scrap booking, quilting, crafting weekend, family reunion, start or end your bicycling excursion here. Experience with your children what farming is like. In fact we have one room set up as an agriculture related play room. The possibilities are endless, in winter when there's enough snow you can could go cross country sking or snow shoeing. If planning a reunion or a larger group and you need more sleeping space there is always the possibility of camping out for extra people. There's plenty of available space to pitch tents near the house. In fact a campfire site in an open clearing near the house will be ready and waiting with firewood for you to sit out at during the evening hours and relax. There is also a gas grill and plenty of lawn chairs. |
